MotoGP 18-20 March 2022
After carrying out the 2022 MotoGP pre-season test on 11-13 February 2022 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit , the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) team and the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) are improving ahead of the 2022 MotoGP race season which will be held March 18-20.
Preparations will start from the circuit, supporting facilities, accommodation to the technical implementation of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia (the official name for the 2022 MotoGP race season). ITDC and MGPA will make improvements and also refine the main track.
Improvements and improvements to the main track are carried out to ensure track conditions are in accordance with the safety standards of the International Motorcycle Racing Federation (FIM).
Therefore, ITDC and MGPA will carry out cleaning by means of a Track Jet Truck , which has a high-pressure water sprayer and is equipped with a rotating brush , and is assisted by a maintenance crew .
MGPA as the organizer has also discussed with Dorna Sports and FIM regarding a number of notes when holding the MotoGP pre-season test at Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit a few days ago.
Talking about supporting facilities, ITDC will fix a number of important facilities such as Race Control . In addition, spectator stands are also being prepared, including the Hospitality Suites VIP Village category , Grandstand and Royal Box or VIP Premiere Class, the highest class to watch the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia .
Meanwhile, VIP Village was made exclusively with a capacity of up to 2,400 people for viewers from the Hospitality Suites category . VIP Village has several facilities including special parking, air-conditioned rooms , open bar , F&B , and an exclusive grandstand .
Then, the Grandstand in the middle of the circuit is also being worked on and the target is to finish it in the second week of March, with a total of 50 thousand seats. Not only that, ITDC together with the Ministry of PUPR carried out a number of works in front of the circuit, namely beautifying and constructing the Kuta-Ruak toll road to the front of the Mandalika gas station.
ITDC will also coordinate with the Ministry of Health and the Covid-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas) in preparing the travel bubble and health protocol SOPs during the event to reduce the potential for the ongoing spread of Covid-19.
